Who we are

Modesto Tree Care ("we," "us") operates modestotreecare.com. We are a referral and matching service that connects homeowners in Stanislaus County, California with independent, third-party tree service providers. We do not perform tree work. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our request form or call our tracked number, we collect the information you provide: your name, phone number, email address (if given), the city where the tree is located, the type of work you're asking about, and anything you write in the message field.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect technical information about your visit — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site, and the date and time of your visit — through cookies and similar technologies described below. When you call our tracked number, our call-tracking provider records the calling number, call time, and call duration.

SMS / text message opt-in data

If you check the consent box on our form, you're agreeing that Modesto Tree Care and the independent provider(s) matched to your request may contact you by phone, text (SMS), or email about your inquiry. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time, or HELP for help. Checking the box is not a condition of submitting a request or of purchasing any service.

How SMS opt-in data is used and shared. Your phone number and SMS consent are used only to respond to and fulfill your request. Your phone number is shared only with the specific independent provider needed to fulfill your request, and is never sold or shared for marketing purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent are not sold, rented, or shared with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

How we use your information

  • To match your request with an independent local provider and pass your contact details to that provider so they can respond.
  • To follow up with you about your request, by phone, text, or email.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the site, and to understand which pages are useful.
  • To keep records of consent, as required by law and carrier rules.

How we share information

We share your request details, including your name and phone number, with the specific independent provider(s) matched to your request so they can contact you and quote the work. Those providers are independently owned and operated and are responsible for their own handling of your information once received. We also share information with service providers that help us run this site (hosting, form processing, call tracking, analytics, and our customer- relationship platform), each of which is permitted to use it only to provide those services to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (including Google Analytics) to measure site traffic, understand how visitors use pages, and track whether a form submission or phone click occurred. These tools collect technical information such as IP address, device and browser details, and pages visited. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how some parts of the site work. We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising.

Call recording

Calls to our tracked number may be recorded for quality and routing purposes. California requires the consent of all parties to a call recording; by remaining on the line after the recording notice, you consent to being recorded.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on the systems that store request data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep request records, including consent records, for as long as needed to fulfill your request, comply with legal and carrier requirements, and resolve disputes, and then delete or anonymize them.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. To stop phone follow-up, tell us or the provider who contacts you.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
